As a qualified Commercial Contract Lawyer, qualified as a Solicitor or Legal Executive, there will be an outstanding opportunity to deal with consistent good quality commercial work outsourced by clients. The most important thing is experience of drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.
No set billable hours target.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main duties of a Legal PA will include, but are not limited to:
Administrative
In conjunction with relevant business support departments, as appropriate:
·Using an effective system such as a to do list/reminders to ensure that longer term tasks are completed;
·Managing diaries, ensuring they are up to date and reminding lawyers of meetings etc on a daily basis;
·Arranging meetings and virtual meetings using Zoom or Microsoft Teams, booking conference rooms, refreshments, checking rooms prior to meetings etc and liaising with other attendees, both internal and external;
·Organising travel arrangements, booking and confirmation of reservations and dealing with related invoices;
·Photocopying, printing, organising couriers, sending out of letters, faxes, case management system uploads etc;
·Opening and closing of general files, general filing, record keeping and archiving of files;
·Liaising with floor support units over filing, scanning, copying etc.
·Using the Land Registry portal and ordering searches using Searchflow or InfoTrack.
Communication
·Taking internal and external telephone queries, responding as appropriate and/or ensuring that all messages are passed on in a timely manner;
·Monitoring post and/or e-mails and dealing with as appropriate and ensuring that all client related correspondence is passed on to an appropriate fee-earner if the relevant person is out of the office;
·Liaising with business support departments on behalf of lawyers as required.
Client Relationship Management
·Be part of client care team and be familiar with the full range of the lawyer's contacts/clients
·Entering, maintaining and updating client details and relevant information of the firm's CRM system;
·Deal with basic queries and general administration, including in relation to hub clients;
·Arrange all client meetings, including client care meetings.
Financial
·Assisting lawyers in ensuring their time is recorded properly and entered onto Elite on a daily basis;
·Assisting lawyers in the billing and credit control process by liaising with the lawyer and Accounts department, to include the production of standard financial/time reports through Aderant;
·Requesting cheques, bank transfers and paying in money received, as appropriate.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to providing support to the fee-earner(s) to whom they report, a Legal PA should also provide assistance to their immediate colleagues in their department and, where practical, other departments. Team duties will therefore include:
·Assisting others in the office whenever there is spare capacity;
·Picking up telephone calls for other members of the office when they are away from their desk;
·Participating in a lunch time telephone rota within the Legal PA team;
·Assisting other members of the department or office;
·Working effectively with other legal departments and support departments as required; and
·Any other duties as reasonably requested by a person of an appropriate seniority.
SKILLS SET
A Legal PA also has a responsibility to ensure that their skills set is up to date and they are familiar with the firm's internal systems and procedures. This will ensure that they are able to carry out the role effectively and, where appropriate, discuss any training requirements with the relevant person(s).

A unique opportunity to join a "Best Companies to work for" accredited leading law firm within their Regulatory team of Regulatory lawyers undertaking Professional Discipline based in Hampshire. Whilst, the firm has adopted hybrid and flexible working it is expected the work will require 2 days in the office based in Hampshire.
The work requires managing an investigatory caseload where it is alleged that the registrant has been guilty of serious professional misconduct or has a conviction which renders them unfit to practice. This includes investigatory work and preparing cases for hearings before panels and committees of the relevant regulators. The work is varied, challenging and rewarding and the cases cover everything from large-scale fraud or multi-patient clinical failings through to inappropriate sexualised behaviour.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will carry out the day-to-day conduct of the regulator's cases under the supervision of a partner and with the assistance of a paralegal. In summary:
·Review instructions and liaise with the client regarding the proposed investigation;
·Prepare advice on procedural and evidential issues;
·Interview key witnesses, taking full statements in relation to the incident in question. This may include interviews with clinicians about complex matters;
·Ensure support for any vulnerable witnesses
·Act as the main point of contact for the client, keeping the client informed of progress;
·Ensure that all factual evidence required to prove the allegations is obtained;
·Instruct experts and identify if any amendments are necessary to expert reports;
·Liaise with registrants' representatives and registrants acting in person;
·Prepare instructions to counsel (both our internal advocates and the external Bar);
·Attend conferences with counsel;
·Ensure that all action points following the conference are completed;
·Assist with drafting allegations;
·Identify relevant material and ensure proper disclosure of unused material;
·Liaise with the listing team in relation to hearings;
·Liaise with the registrant's team or registrant in person in the run up to the hearing;
·Supervise the preparation of the hearing bundle by the paralegal;
·Attend hearing in whole or part, depending on client requirements;
·Prepare matters in response to any appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council or the High Court;
·Provide advice to clients on issues related to regulatory and disciplinary law;
·Assist with advice to clients on matters of statutory interpretation and policy;
·Assist with training programmes for regulatory clients, both devising and delivering workshops, case studies etc.;
·Write articles and provide updates to the team in relation to regulatory and disciplinary topics.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate at interview that they are self-motivated and commercially minded, as well as having good interpersonal skills and being able to work effectively in teams.

A leading law firm require an enthusiastic, commercially aware and experienced Senior Barrister to handle Professional Misconduct and Regulatory advocacy cases. The successful Barrister will be join one of the largest specialist departments of its kind in the country as part of their in-house advocacy team.
The role offers hybrid working and flexible hours requiring 1 or 2 days in their Hampshire office dependent upon diaries.
As an experienced advocate you will primarily present cases at final substantive hearing and represent regulators at interim application and case management hearings. This includes presenting the full range of cases taken forward to hearing by professional regulators including those involving dishonesty, fraud, sexual misconduct and serious instances of deficient professional performance. There will be opportunities to work with expert witnesses and to support vulnerable witnesses and those with additional support needs to give best evidence.
There are also opportunities to input into case direction at all stages of the investigation and preparation process. This includes: evidence reviews, allegation drafting, preparing opening notes, case summaries and written applications/ skeleton arguments and advice on all types of legal and evidential issues arising during the course of case preparation and presentation. There are also opportunities to get involved in our broader advisory work with clients, including the use of statutory powers and a wide range of other issues affecting regulators.
Depending on qualification and experience, it is likely that there will opportunities to appear in the High Court and the First Tier Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the regulators. There are also opportunities to work with our clients on continuous improvement projects and scope for involvement in training for panel members and in-house teams.
The Candidate
A qualified Senior Barrister, self motivated and preferably with previous regulatory/professional discipline experience or similar litigation prosecution experience.
